*In clinical trials studying Wegovy® (2.4 mg), the average weight loss was 15% and 20%, respectively, when paired with diet and exercise (compared to 2.4% and 3.1% with diet and exercise alone). Results may vary. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are made by a licensed pharmacy based on a provider’s prescription.

GHRP-2 Protocol

Supports robust growth hormone release through direct ghrelin receptor stimulation — under physician supervision with lab monitoring.
Starting at $XXX/month
GH release via ghrelin receptor stimulation
Approved in Japan as a GH diagnostic agent
Studied for cytoprotective effects beyond GH release
GHRP-2 (Pralmorelin) is a synthetic hexapeptide approved in Japan as a diagnostic agent for GH deficiency testing — giving it some of the most rigorous human pharmacology data of any GHRP. It produces potent GH release with a more modest appetite effect than earlier-generation GHRPs.

FAQ

Is GHRP-2 FDA approved?

Not in the US. It is approved in Japan as a GH diagnostic agent (Pralmorelin) and is subject to US compounding restrictions. Shed will offer it when regulations allow.

What is GHRP-2?
GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2), known generically as Pralmorelin, is a synthetic hexapeptide developed from the GHRP-6 scaffold. It works through the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) to stimulate GH release from the pituitary — through a mechanism entirely distinct from GHRH analogs like CJC-1295.

Compared to GHRP-6, GHRP-2 produces equivalent GH stimulation with a reduced appetite effect. Compared to ipamorelin, it produces more potent GH release but also modestly stimulates cortisol and prolactin — a tradeoff Shed physicians discuss transparently with patients.

Its Japanese pharmaceutical approval as a GH stimulation test agent gives GHRP-2 unusually robust human pharmacology data relative to most other GHRPs.

How GHRP-2 Works

Designed to support circulation and the body’s natural recovery pathways
1.
Ghrelin Receptor Agonism

GHRP-2 binds to GHS-R1a receptors on pituitary somatotrophs with high affinity, triggering marked GH release via phospholipase C signaling — distinct from the cAMP pathway used by CJC-1295.

2.
Somatostatin Suppression

At the hypothalamus, GHRP-2 suppresses somatostatin — the hormone that brakes GH release — further amplifying its net GH output.

3.
ACTH/Cortisol Co-Stimulation

Unlike ipamorelin, GHRP-2 also modestly stimulates the adrenal axis. At therapeutic doses this effect is modest but measurable, which is why cortisol baseline monitoring is required in Shed's GHRP-2 protocols.
