What are GLP-1 daily pills?

GLP-1 daily pills are FDA-approved oral medications for chronic weight management. They work by mimicking a naturally occurring hormone, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which helps regulate appetite and blood sugar. Both Foundayo® and the Wegovy® pill are once-daily options that deliver GLP-1 therapy without the need for injections.

What's the difference between Foundayo® and the Wegovy® pill?

The main differences are the active ingredient and how they're taken. Foundayo® contains orforglipron, a new, small-molecule GLP-1 and can be taken any time of day with or without food. The Wegovy® pill contains semaglutide and should be taken on an empty stomach with a small amount of water, with a 30-minute wait before eating or drinking. A licensed provider can help you decide which is the better fit.

How do these pills compare to injectable GLP-1s?

Both pills belong to the same class of medication as injectable GLP-1s and work in a similar way. One key difference is how they are taken. Instead of a weekly injection, you take one pill daily—no needles, no injection site rotation, no weekly shot schedule.

How much does it cost?

Both Foundayo® and the Wegovy® pill start at $149/month for medication for new members using cash pay. Your Shed Membership is $125/month and covers the member support, unlimited provider visits, and Health Coaching. Medication costs are paid separately to a dispensing pharmacy.

How do I know which pill is right for me?

A licensed provider will review your health history and goals and determine whether Foundayo®, the Wegovy® pill, or another treatment option is the right fit for you. You won't be prescribed anything without a medical review.

What are the potential side effects?

The most common potential side effects include nausea, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach discomfort. These are typically mild to moderate and often improve as your body adjusts.
