What is Foundayo® and how does it work?

Foundayo® (orforglipron) is a once-daily oral GLP-1 receptor agonist approved by the FDA for chronic weight management in eligible adults. It works by activating GLP-1 receptors involved in appetite regulation, helping reduce hunger and food intake. When combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, it can help people lose weight and maintain weight loss over time.

How is Foundayo® different from injectable GLP-1s?

Foundayo® is taken as a daily pill rather than an injection. It can be taken any time of day, with or without food, and does not have the food or water restrictions required by some other oral GLP-1 medications. Like other GLP-1 treatments, it works by targeting receptors involved in appetite regulation.

How do I take Foundayo®?

Foundayo® is taken by mouth once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, chew, or break it. Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions for your prescribed dose, including any dose increases over time.

What is Shed?

What kind of results can I expect on Foundayo®?

How do I take Foundayo®?

Are there any side effects of Foundayo®?

Common side effects include nausea, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, indigestion, abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, bloating, belching, heartburn, gas, and hair loss. Foundayo® also carries a boxed warning about the risk of thyroid C-cell tumors observed in animal studies. It should not be used by people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or people with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Talk with your provider about the full risks and benefits before starting treatment.

Is Foundayo® right for everyone?

No. Foundayo® is FDA-approved for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or adults who are overweight and have at least one weight-related health condition. A licensed provider will review your medical history, current medications, and health goals to determine whether it's appropriate for you. It is not suitable for everyone.

Does Foundayo® need to be refrigerated?

No. Foundayo® can be stored at room temperature, between 68°F and 77°F. Keep it in its original bottle and carton to protect it from light, and keep all medication out of reach of children.

How much does it cost?

Foundayo® through Shed starts at $149 per month for the medication, plus a $125 monthly Shed membership fee. The membership includes provider-led care and ongoing support. Medication costs are paid separately to the dispensing pharmacy, and your final cost may vary based on your prescribed dose and eligibility for savings programs.
