How does Roxus® work?

Roxus® contains vardenafil, a PDE5 inhibitor that helps increase blood flow to the penis when you’re sexually stimulated. Its intranasal delivery bypasses the digestive system, allowing the medication to reach the bloodstream faster than a standard oral vardenafil tablet.

What can I expect after signup?

You’ll complete a short online medical assessment, usually in about 3–5 minutes. A U.S.-licensed provider reviews your information and, if approved, sends your prescription to the pharmacy. Your medication is then shipped discreetly to your door.

How fast will I see results?

Roxus® is designed to work quickly, with clinical pharmacokinetic studies showing medication absorption beginning in as little as 5 minutes and median peak blood levels at about 10 minutes. Time to peak medication level is not the same as time to erection, and individual results may vary.

Questions? We've got answers.

What is Roxus®?

Roxus® is a prescription intranasal ED treatment containing vardenafil. Instead of swallowing a tablet, the medication is administered through the nose, allowing it to bypass digestion and reach the bloodstream quickly. Roxus® is a compounded medication and is not FDA-approved.

Does Roxus® actually work in 5 minutes?

Roxus® is designed to work quickly, with clinical pharmacokinetic studies showing medication absorption beginning in as little as 5 minutes and median peak blood levels at about 10 minutes. Time to peak medication level is not the same as time to erection, and individual results may vary.

Why is Roxus® a nasal spray?

The nasal route allows the medication to be absorbed through the nasal tissue instead of passing through the digestive system. That gives Roxus® a faster route to the bloodstream and removes the need to swallow a pill.

Do food and alcohol affect Roxus®?

Because Roxus® bypasses digestion, food and alcohol do not slow its delivery the way they can with oral ED tablets. Alcohol itself can still affect sexual performance or increase certain side effects, so follow your provider’s guidance.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes. Roxus® is a prescription medication. After you complete a short online medical assessment, a U.S.-licensed healthcare provider reviews your information and determines whether Roxus® is appropriate for you.

Do I need to see a provider in person?

No in-person office visit is typically required. You complete a short medical assessment online, and a U.S.-licensed provider reviews your information. If approved, your prescription is sent to the pharmacy for fulfillment.

Is Roxus® safe?

Roxus® contains vardenafil, a PDE5 inhibitor that has been used in oral ED treatments for more than 20 years. Like any prescription medication, it is not appropriate for everyone, which is why a licensed provider reviews your medical history before prescribing. Roxus® should not be used with nitrates and may not be appropriate for people with certain cardiovascular conditions or low blood pressure. Roxus® is compounded and is not FDA-approved.

What happens after I sign up?

You’ll complete a short online medical assessment, usually in about 3–5 minutes. A U.S.-licensed provider reviews your information and, if approved, sends your prescription to the pharmacy. Your medication is then shipped discreetly to your door.

*Based on pharmacokinetic studies of Spontan, marketed in the U.S. as Roxus. Median Tmax ~10 minutes (range 5–60 minutes). Tmax is not a measure of time to erection. Individual results may vary. Onset claims are based on self-reported user experience, with some users reporting onset of effect in as little as 5 minutes; individual results vary and are not guaranteed. Separately, in two Phase 1 clinical studies, intranasally delivered vardenafil reached peak plasma concentration at a mean of approximately 10 minutes, compared with approximately 45 to 58 minutes for a 10mg oral vardenafil tablet. Time to peak plasma concentration measures drug absorption and may not directly correspond to time to onset of effect. Sources: Chung et al. 2025; Chow/Wang et al. 2023.

Roxus® is a compounded medication dispensed through licensed 503A compounding pharmacies and is not FDA-approved. Individual results vary. Mavrox treatments are prescription-only. Do not take if you use nitrates, have low blood pressure, or have been advised against sexual activity. Consult your provider before starting any treatment.

Do not take Roxus if you use nitrates (including recreational "poppers"), riociguat, or 5HT3 antagonists — these combinations can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure or severe hypotension. Seek immediate medical attention for an erection lasting longer than 4 hours. Tell your provider about any heart conditions, recent heart attack or stroke, low blood pressure, dizziness or fainting history, dialysis, or use of alpha-blockers. Possible side effects may include nasal congestion, headache, flushing, dizziness, or indigestion.
